1997 PAGES Medical Mission – Tricycle Transport

This how many arrive – parents, siblings and other family members with their children – on heavy steel sidecars attached to ancient small displacement 2-stroke motorcycles that fill the air with oil and high-pitched squeals. Tricycles, they call them, and they are a fundamental part of the country’s cobbled-together transportation network.

The medical mission has been announced months in advance, and families have made plans to be here.
