Housekeeping

I’m sweeping out the cobwebs in here and working to make this the central point of my words and pictures. That means moving away from Medium (I haven’t posted in years), Blogger (where I started many moons ago), Substack, and whatever new flavor of the month floats downstream.

That’s the thing – it seems like every five years or so there’s a gold rush to a new platform, and the spoils go to whoever can get there quickly and build audience and momentum fast. But after that initial rush, it’s a slog for everyone else joining to capture the same viral magic.

I caught that wave once, when TikTok started growing. But chasing those waves comes at a cost of time and control. And it’s exhausting. So going forward, this website will the hub of all my activity. I’ve got a million ideas, some of them motorcycle related, some of them bicycle related, some of them out of left field.
